About a Micronation And the Late Queen, And Me Being Horny Like Hell

October 3, 2022 By Andrea Downey-Lauenburg

We decided to stay for the weekend and try to set sail in the beginning of next week. But that’s actually not the point. More important is the fact that I survived this crap, and I’m ready to roll again. Not in a very healthy way, though. I’m still lacking my usual power and I’m overly tired and sleepy. I fear this will stay with me for a while. But I have my crew that is keen to fill in where necessary.

In the morning we set sail for an extended daytrip to this crazy place called “Minerva Reef”. There’s actually nothing to see really; it was once called the “Republic of Minerva”, basically an artificial island – a micronation in the Pacific, check Wikipedia – that is reclaimed by the sea. There are always some yachts hanging around this place, and people try to walk on the now submerged island. And there are sometimes people who sail to close and wreck their boats in the process. We are not intending to do that, though. But seeing absolutely nothing in the fucking middle of the Pacific is kind of a blast. Right?

I’m really keen to grab the wheel again, to feel the rudders and the wind in the sheets. It’s about time!

What I first wanted to do with this diary entry was to tell foreigners that they shouldn’t try to understand us Brits and our almost religious affiliation with our Royals. That there is more to it than just logic and politics. Well, I won’t try to explain, it’s useless, and it’s no-one else’s business anyway. We are who we are and others are who they are. I will never understand the Americans and their almost sexual relations with guns, I will never get the French and their glorified hatred towards their own government, I will never comprehend why Germans feel the need to take responsibility for every shit that happens in the world – and I won’t question any of it. We are who we are. Just let us be. If you don’t get why I grieve for my late Queen – hard luck. No offence.

But not even this is what I wanted to say in the first place. I keep it simple: After almost two weeks of feeling and being sick, I’m horny like hell! I suggest the next few days will become a bit of a challenge for some of my fellow travellers! Thank you.
