New Boat Ahead

August 22, 2022 By Andrea Downey-Lauenburg

The wonderful Norway weekend is over and after a long talk with Maze I know now that our ketch is going to be sold. It’s really a pity, but what can one do? Due to minor problems with the main mast, the rudder and some other stuff we are going to buy another boat. Actually – Maze already had.

I’m going to fly to Fiji with a short stop in Zurich on Wednesday.

Hopefully we can continue our circumnavigation at the next weekend heading South-East. This time with an almost new 64-footer. Quite a bit bigger than our ketch was. With ten berths aboard, Maze will use two cabins as a warehouse for all the stuff she intends to fit the boat. It will be us – Maze and me – Ken and Gernot, Cheyenne and two other crew I haven’t met yet.

I’m so looking forward to be back at sea with the noise of the sails above my head.
