Break’s looming

I haven’t written anything in a while. Apparently what I’m doing takes a toll on me too. That’s why we are planning to have a break from the war. (No, I’m not in the thick of it, but on the sidelines, which is nerve wracking enough.) Btw. did I tell you that we’re seeing big cues of trucks and cars that reach all the way up to the horizon? People who desperately want to get out of Ukraine? Women mostly, who flee the war? Normal people who just want to go on with their lives, not wanting to live in fear every day? What would you do if your country, your city, your house is bombed every day? Have you ever imagined the worst? Well, I don’t have to imagine, I talk to the victims day after day. It’s awful, I dont find a more fitting word. I need a break. People’s minds can only take so much.

A few weeks off in the Caribbean is just what I need. I’m in a position that allows me to take a break, others aren’t.

By the way – what do you do for the refugees? Why don’t you just hop to the UNHCR website and donate a few bucks? The UNHCR is the UN’s organisation that helps refugees all over the world. Just imagine if you had to flee a war leaving EVERYTHING behind.
